The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was founded in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1952 by Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi and has grown under the leadership of Enoch Adeboye into one of the largest and most influential Pentecostal denominations in Africa and globally. It holds to evangelical Protestant theology with a strong emphasis on the prosperity gospel, divine healing, prayer, and missions. The RCCG operates in over 190 countries and has thousands of parishes. It maintains that salvation is by grace through faith, practices believer's baptism by immersion, and expects the active operation of spiritual gifts including tongues, prophecy, and healing.
