The RCCG observes Sunday (the Lord's Day) as the primary day of worship and celebration, commemorating the Resurrection of Christ. However, the church does not impose Sabbatarian restrictions or teach that the Sabbath commandment is binding on Christians. The church's understanding follows the evangelical Protestant interpretation that the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament, including Sabbath observance, have been fulfilled in Christ and are no longer binding on believers.

Instead of Sabbath observance, the RCCG emphasizes continuous prayer and spiritual devotion throughout the week. Prayer meetings are held regularly (often including all-night prayer vigils on Friday or Saturday), and believers are encouraged to live in a constant attitude of prayer and dedication to God. The church's spiritual rhythm is not based on cyclical weekly observance of a sacred day, but on continuous communion with God and faithful Christian living.
