Message Movement (Branhamism)
The Message Movement derives from the ministry and teachings of William Marrion Branham (1909–1965), an American faith healer who attracted wide Pentecostal audiences before developing increasingly distinctive doctrines. Branham taught that he was the end-time Elijah prophet of Malachi 4:5–6 whose message would restore the original apostolic faith. His recorded sermons are regarded by followers as divinely inspired and equal to or surpassing the Bible in authority for this age. The movement espouses Oneness theology (rejecting the Trinity), the serpent seed doctrine (the Fall involved literal sexual union between Eve and the serpent), and strict predestination.
