God created all things by His word; creation reflects God's power and wisdom; humans have spiritual worth

The Zion Christian Church affirms Genesis 1:1-2 as establishing God's absolute creative power and sovereignty. All things exist because God spoke them into being; all creation depends on God's sustaining word. This affirmation grounds the ZCC's understanding of God's present power to heal, protect, and guide believers.

In ZCC theology, the affirmation of God as Creator of all things also establishes God's supremacy over all spiritual forces, including those from African traditional religion and spirituality. While the ZCC integrates elements of African spiritual tradition, it does so under the lordship of the Creator God revealed in Scripture. God's creation is the ultimate spiritual reality; all other spiritual powers and entities are God's creation and subordinate to God's authority.

Genesis 1:1-2 also affirms the spiritual dignity and worth of human beings, created in God's image. This grounds the ZCC's healing and pastoral ministries — believers matter to God and deserve the Church's spiritual and material care.
