The Old Catholic Church affirms the literal, future, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth. The Nicene Creed states: 'His kingdom will have no end.' Christ ascended to the right hand of God the Father and will return visibly to judge all humanity and consummate all things. This is not merely symbolic or spiritual, but a historical event at the end of the age.

At the Second Coming, Christ will judge the living and the dead. The dead will be raised—all persons in bodily resurrection—and brought before the tribunal of Christ. Each person will face final judgment according to their deeds, their faith, and their perseverance in grace. The righteous will enter eternal life; the unrepentant will be condemned to eternal punishment. All creation will be transformed: a new heaven and new earth will be established where God's justice and peace reign eternally.

The timing and signs of Christ's return are known to God alone. The church's task is not to calculate dates or obsess over signs, but to live in readiness, proclaiming the gospel and persevering in faith. The parousia (second coming) is the completion of redemptive history and the realization of Christian hope. All earthly history moves toward this eschatological consummation.
