Plymouth Brethren, following Darby's dispensationalism, teach that the Old Testament Sabbath was a Jewish institution that is not binding on the church. Instead, believers worship on Sunday, the Lord's Day, in commemoration of Christ's resurrection. This reflects the belief that the church is under a new covenant dispensation distinct from Jewish ceremonial law. Brethren do not observe Saturday Sabbath restrictions and view Sunday worship as appropriate to the church age.
