Sabbath

The Cherubim and Seraphim Church observes Sunday as the Lord's Day and primary day of worship. The C&S does not teach Sabbatarian requirements — that believers must observe Saturday as the Sabbath or refrain from work and secular activities on that day. Sunday is understood as the day of resurrection and as the Christian fulfillment of the Sabbath rest.

However, prayer and spiritual discipline are woven throughout the week. C&S members are expected to participate in prayer meetings, prayer houses, and prayer vigils that may occur on any evening or throughout the night. These prayer times are not relegated to a single day but are seen as essential to Christian life. The C&S culture emphasizes constant intercession, expectation of revelatory encounter, and maintenance of spiritual alertness.

There are no legalistic restrictions on work or secular activity on Saturday or Sunday beyond the expectation that believers will set aside time for worship and prayer. The emphasis falls not on separation of a sacred day from mundane activities but on the permeation of all life with prayer, spiritual awareness, and encounter with God. This reflects a worldview in which the sacred and ordinary are more porous than in Western secularized Christianity.
