Revelation 20:1-6 — "The Thousand Years"

Disciples of Christ do not hold a binding position on the millennium and generally regard detailed millennial speculation as secondary. The Restoration Movement's founders were skeptical of premillennialism, and the progressive mainline trajectory has moved further from eschatological speculation. Amillennialism is the default working assumption in most Disciples theological education. The denomination's investment in the ecumenical movement and social justice—building the Kingdom in the present—reflects a realized or inaugurated eschatology more than expectation of a literal millennial reign.
