Eternal Son pre-existed all creation; the Word that became incarnate flesh
The RCCG affirms the eternal pre-existence of Jesus Christ. Before time and creation, the Son existed with God the Father in eternal communion. Jesus is the eternal Word (Logos) through whom all things were created. The Incarnation is not the creation of Jesus but the entry of the eternally existing Son into history, taking on human flesh at a point in time.
This doctrine is central to RCCG Christology and is affirmed in worship and prayer. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever; he did not come into being at his birth but entered into the human condition while remaining the eternal God. The pre-existence of Christ ensures his divine authority and power, and grounds the church's faith that Christ is the same mighty God in all ages and eras.
