Chalcedonian: fully divine and fully human; Lord and Savior of all
The RCCG affirms the Chalcedonian Christology: Jesus Christ is fully divine and fully human, one person in two natures, which are united without confusion, change, mixture, or separation. Jesus Christ is God the Son, the Second Person of the Trinity, who became incarnate in human flesh for the salvation of humanity. He is the eternal Word made flesh, the image of God, and the source of all creation.
As fully divine, Jesus possesses all divine attributes: he is eternal, omniscient, omnipotent, and worthy of worship and prayer. As fully human, Jesus experienced genuine human life, suffering, death, and resurrection. Jesus is confessed as Lord (Kyrios)—the risen and ascended Christ who is seated at the right hand of God the Father and who is the head of the Church. The church emphasizes Jesus as Savior, Healer, Deliverer, and the source of blessing for believers. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus accomplished redemption for all who believe in him.
