The ICOC affirms orthodox Christology: Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God who became fully human in the Incarnation. He lived sinlessly, died as a substitutionary sacrifice, rose bodily from the dead, and is now Lord of the universe. His Lordship is particularly emphasized in ICOC teaching: not merely 'Savior' but 'Lord' — a commitment that requires radical discipleship and life change.
The ICOC's emphasis on total commitment to Jesus as Lord has shaped its demanding discipleship model. Following Jesus is understood as all-encompassing, affecting every relationship, priority, and decision in a disciple's life.
