Nature of Jesus

Hutterites affirm orthodox Christology: Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became fully human, died for sin, and rose from the dead. He is Lord of the church and the pattern for discipleship. The Rechenschaft of Peter Riedemann reflects a high Christology consistent with the ecumenical councils, while grounding Christology in the practical implications for community life.

For Hutterites, Jesus's call to 'sell all and follow me' and the communal sharing of Acts 2–4 are direct expressions of his lordship. Following Jesus is not an individual spiritual exercise but a communal commitment embodied in the Bruderhof's communal life.
