Nature of Jesus

The Cherubim and Seraphim Church affirms Chalcedonian Christology — Jesus Christ is one person with two natures, fully God and fully human, without confusion or separation. Jesus is Lord (Kurios/Oba) — sovereign over all creation, all nations, and all spiritual powers. He is the eternal Son of God, and His incarnation, death, and resurrection are central to God's redemptive plan.

However, the C&S's Christology is experienced and expressed within an African spiritual framework. Jesus is understood not merely as Savior in a forensic sense but as Healer, Protector, and Conqueror of demonic forces. His lordship is practical — He hears the prayers of the suffering, heals the sick, delivers the oppressed from spiritual bondage, and protects the faithful from evil. The victory of Christ is understood in terms of His triumph over Satan and demonic principalities; through Christ's name, believers have authority to command demons to depart.

Jesus is the model for Christian discipleship — His life of prayer, fasting, and dependence on the Father is to be imitated. The C&S calls believers to follow Christ in suffering, obedience, and holiness. Christ's imminent return is expected to consummate history and establish the fullness of God's kingdom.
