Calvary Chapel holds a fully orthodox Christology: Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who took on human flesh in the Incarnation. He is one person with two natures — fully divine and fully human — in accordance with the Chalcedonian Definition (451 AD). His humanity was genuine in all respects except sin.
This dual nature is foundational to Calvary Chapel's understanding of salvation: only one who is truly God could atone for sin, and only one who is truly human could act as humanity's representative and substitute. Calvary Chapel's verse-by-verse teaching regularly affirms the deity of Christ against modern denials.
