Nature of God

Iglesia ni Cristo affirms strict monotheism: there is only one true God, the Father, who is Yahweh or the Almighty God of Israel and the cosmos. God is absolutely unique, without equal or rival, transcendent, and eternal. All divine attributes—omnipotence, omniscience, eternality, holiness, justice, and mercy—belong to the Father alone. The doctrine rejects any suggestion that divinity is shared among multiple persons or that there is any complexity or composition in God's nature.

This unitarian understanding of God is presented as the restoration of apostolic Christianity and consistent with the Old Testament's emphasis on God's oneness. The Father is understood as the source of all being and the ultimate object of worship and obedience. The strict monotheism of INC theology serves as a foundation for the rejection of the Trinity and the subordination of Jesus Christ to the Father.
