Millennium

The UPCI holds a premillennial eschatology: Christ will return and establish a literal thousand-year reign on earth before the final judgment and the eternal state. The millennium is understood as the fulfillment of God's kingdom promises — Christ ruling the nations in righteousness, with the redeemed saints reigning with him. This will be a time of unprecedented peace and justice under the direct rule of King Jesus.

The UPCI's premillennialism is broadly consistent with the wider Pentecostal tradition's adoption of dispensationalist eschatology in the 20th century. Revelation 20 is read as describing a literal future thousand-year period, not as a symbolic description of the current church age (as in amillennialism) or as a golden age produced by the church's growth (as in postmillennialism).

The millennial reign of Christ is understood as the earthly manifestation of the kingdom of God that Jesus proclaimed — the completion of redemptive history in which God's purposes for creation are fully realized. After the millennium, Satan is released briefly, defeated finally, and the Great White Throne judgment occurs, followed by the eternal state.
