Premillennial; literal 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth before final judgment
The Church of God (Cleveland) holds to premillennial eschatology: Jesus Christ will literally reign on earth for a thousand years following his second coming. This literal millennium is distinguished from both amillennial (which denies a literal thousand-year reign) and postmillennial (which places it after Christ's return) interpretations.
During the millennium, Christ will reign, the righteous will be exalted, and Satan will be bound. After the thousand years, Satan will be released, rebellion will occur, and finally Christ will judge all people and create the new heavens and new earth. This eschatological framework shapes the Church's understanding of history as moving toward Christ's reign and the renewal of all things. The millennium represents the hope of Christ's vindication and the promise of God's ultimate triumph over evil.
