Premillennial; pre-tribulation rapture followed by literal 1,000-year reign
Calvary Chapel is firmly premillennial and pre-tribulational. It teaches that Christ will rapture the church before a seven-year Tribulation period, after which he will return visibly to defeat the Antichrist, bind Satan, and establish a literal one-thousand-year reign on earth from Jerusalem. This millennial kingdom fulfills Old Testament promises to Israel.
This dispensationalist eschatology is one of the defining features of Calvary Chapel's identity. Chuck Smith's verse-by-verse teaching through Revelation was enormously influential, and his book 'The Final Curtain' articulated the movement's pre-trib, premillennial convictions. This framework shapes Calvary Chapel's strong support for Israel and its reading of current events through a prophetic lens.
