John 7:53–8:11 — "The Woman Caught in Adultery"

Independent Fundamental Churches acknowledge that John 7:53–8:11 is omitted in some early manuscripts but is well-attested in many important manuscript traditions. The passage has been part of the church's Scripture since ancient times. Fundamentalist churches, especially those favoring the Textus Receptus or other older manuscript traditions, include this passage as Scripture.

The passage's theme of Christ's mercy toward the sinner and his resistance to the hypocrisy of the self-righteous accords with Gospel teaching.
