Holy Spirit fully personal and divine; all spiritual gifts active; central to worship and identity
The Cherubim and Seraphim Church affirms that the Holy Spirit is a fully divine person of the Trinity — not an impersonal force or divine influence but the third person of the Godhead. The Spirit is the primary agent of Christian experience and power within the C&S. Encounter with the Spirit is not peripheral but central; the C&S identity is shaped by expectation of direct, felt, transformative encounters with the Spirit in prayer, worship, and ministry.
The C&S teaches that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit listed in Scripture remain fully operative today: prophecy, visions and dreams, speaking in tongues, healing, discernment, words of knowledge, and deliverance from demons. These gifts are not exceptional or extraordinary but normal expressions of the Spirit's ongoing ministry. Worship in the C&S is characterized by prayer vigils, singing, testimonies of answered prayer and healing, and openness to prophetic words and angelic visions. The Spirit speaks directly to believers through these means.
The baptism or filling with the Holy Spirit is understood as a distinct, empowering experience — the Spirit's sealing upon the believer for service and spiritual authority. Through the Spirit, believers receive power to resist evil, heal the sick, and witness boldly. The white garments worn by C&S members symbolize the Spirit's sanctifying work and the believer's dedication to purity.
