Community of Christ observes Christmas and Easter as central Christian celebrations, as well as other holidays in the Christian year. The denomination's movement toward ecumenical Christianity has brought it closer to the liturgical practices of mainline Protestantism, with increasing use of the lectionary and the Christian calendar.
Unlike some conservative Restoration heritage communities, Community of Christ does not view the Christian calendar as an addition to Scripture; it is embraced as a valuable resource for communal formation and for connection with the broader body of Christ.
