Holidays

The Church of God (Cleveland) celebrates the major Christian holidays: Christmas (commemorating the incarnation of Christ), Easter (commemorating the resurrection), and Pentecost (commemorating the outpouring of the Holy Spirit). These holidays are observed as occasions for worship, teaching, and celebration of the central truths of the gospel.

While the Church does not consider these holidays as days on which salvation depends or as required observances for all believers, they are valued as seasons for emphasizing biblical truth and bringing the congregation together in corporate worship. Some other holidays or celebrations (such as Good Friday) may also be observed in local congregations. The Church's approach is to honor these celebrations as helpful reminders of Christ's work while avoiding the legalism of making their observance mandatory for salvation.
