Deuterocanonical books excluded from canon; Protestant 66-book Scripture affirmed as complete
The Zion Christian Church follows the Protestant canon and excludes the deuterocanonical books from Scripture. The ZCC affirms the 66 books of the Protestant Bible as the complete and authoritative Word of God.
While the ZCC does not engage in detailed biblical scholarship, it has inherited the evangelical-Protestant tradition which recognizes only the 66 books as canonical. The deuterocanonical books, while historically interesting and religiously valuable, are not part of the ZCC's authoritative Scripture.
The ZCC's doctrinal teachings, healing theology, and pastoral practice are all based on the 66 canonical books. The exclusion of deuterocanonical books maintains the ZCC's continuity with its Protestant heritage and evangelical theology.
