Christ's death and blood provide salvation, healing, and deliverance from curses and demonic bondage
The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God affirms that Jesus Christ's death and resurrection provide redemption and deliverance for all who believe. The atonement is understood through the lens of penal substitution — Christ bore the penalty for human sin, taking upon Himself the judgment that sinners deserve. His blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins and the cleansing of all who believe.
A distinctive feature of UCKG atonement theology is the emphasis on deliverance from curses and demonic bondage. Through His death and resurrection, Christ broke the power of Satan, defeated demons, and freed believers from spiritual oppression. The blood of Christ is invoked metaphorically as a powerful spiritual force that protects believers from demonic attack, breaks curses (both generational and present), and provides spiritual authority. Believers can claim Christ's redemptive work to stand against evil and to command demons to leave in Christ's name.
The atonement is also understood to extend to physical healing and material provision. Through Christ's passion, believers have access to healing of body and mind and to the material blessings God intends. The cross is the place where Satan was defeated, sin was paid for, and all liberation — spiritual, physical, and material — was secured. Believers appropriate these benefits through faith, prayer, and seed-faith giving.
