Christ's blood atones for sin; His death provides redemption and salvation
The True Jesus Church affirms that Jesus Christ's death on the cross is the atonement for human sin. The shedding of Christ's blood cleanses believers from all sins—past, present, and future (if properly received through the prescribed means). The atonement is understood as a transaction in which Christ's suffering and death substitute for the believer's deserved judgment and payment for sin.
The church teaches that this atonement is unlimited in its offer; God desires all people to be saved. However, the actual benefit of the atonement is only applied to those who respond according to the church's understanding of the conditions: faith, baptism in Jesus' name, speaking in tongues, Sabbath observance, and foot washing.
Christ's death is understood as fulfilling the Old Testament sacrificial system and is commemorated in the ordinance of Holy Communion. The atonement is not only individual but also corporate, as Christ's blood sanctifies and sustains the whole church.
