Premillennial; Christ will reign on earth for 1,000 years of peace
LDS theology is explicitly premillennial: after Christ's return, he will personally reign on earth for one thousand years — the Millennium — during which the earth will be cleansed and renewed. During this period, both mortal and resurrected beings will inhabit the earth; missionary and temple work will continue until all who can be saved are saved. Satan will be bound and unable to tempt humanity.
The Millennium is a period of preparation for the final resurrection, judgment, and the telestial and celestial destinies. LDS temple work — including genealogical research and proxy ordinances for the dead — is understood as preparation for the Millennial period, during which the work of redemption for the dead will be completed.
