The Kimbanguist Church teaches that salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Salvation includes both justification before God and the ongoing ethical and spiritual transformation that comes through following Kimbangu's teachings. The faith by which one is saved is expressed through baptism, church membership, and adherence to the ethical standards taught by Kimbangu and maintained by the church community.

Election and grace are understood as God's provision of salvation through Christ, made available to all peoples, with Kimbangu called specifically to bring this salvation message to Africa. Baptism by immersion is practiced as a sign and seal of salvation, and ongoing faithful living within the community is expected as evidence of genuine conversion.
