IFCA International affirms the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity, fully divine, and personally active in the work of salvation and sanctification. The Spirit's primary work is to convict the unsaved of sin and the need for Christ, to regenerate and indwell every believer at the moment of conversion, and to progressively sanctify believers throughout their earthly lives. The Spirit produces the fruit of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) in the believer.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to IFCA doctrine, occurs at the moment of conversion — it is not a subsequent experience or a sign of spiritual maturity. At conversion, the believer is baptized into the body of Christ, placed into union with Christ by the Holy Spirit, and indwelt by the Spirit permanently. This indwelling is the seal and guarantee of the believer's salvation and future inheritance. The Spirit's presence in the believer provides assurance of adoption as God's child and power for godly living.

IFCA maintains a cessationist position: the miraculous sign gifts (speaking in unknown tongues, divine healing as a sign gift, apostolic prophecy) ceased with the completion of the canon and the apostolic age. These gifts authenticated the apostolic message in the early church. The Spirit continues to work through ordinary means — the preaching of Scripture, prayer, and the community of believers — but does not perform miracles on demand as signs.
