Community of Christ does not teach biblical inerrancy and engages with historical-critical biblical scholarship in its theological education. The denomination's seminary (Graceland University and the Community of Christ Seminary) trains ministers with the full range of critical tools. Scripture is affirmed as inspired and authoritative for faith and practice while acknowledging its human dimensions.

This approach to Scripture is consistent with the denomination's movement toward mainline Protestant theology and its ecumenical engagement. The qualification 'as far as it is translated correctly' (LDS Article 8) is retained in Community of Christ teaching, but is understood as an invitation to critical engagement rather than as a proof of the Book of Mormon's superiority.
