The denomination values the ongoing guidance of the Spirit, particularly in corporate decision-making (Annual Conference) and in the church's prophetic witness to justice and peace. However, the biblical canon is closed; no new Scripture should be added or elevated to canonical authority.

Extraordinary spiritual experiences (visions, mystical encounters, prophecy) are not rejected but are tested against Scripture and community wisdom. The emphasis is on the Spirit's work through the community and Scripture rather than on individual ecstatic experiences or claimed revelations.
