Future earthly kingdom and restoration; interpretation varies on millennium metaphysics

The Church of God General Conference affirms the future hope of God's kingdom and eternal life, and interprets Revelation 20 in light of its kingdom theology. The COGC has a strong emphasis on the future restoration of the earth and the gathering of the faithful in God's kingdom.

However, the COGC's approach to the details of Revelation 20 (the exact nature of the thousand years, the literal binding of Satan, etc.) is more flexible. The emphasis is on God's ultimate triumph, the vindication of the faithful, and the establishment of righteousness. Some in the COGC tradition interpret the thousand years more symbolically or are less dogmatic about premillennialism, while maintaining conviction in a future earthly kingdom and resurrection of the dead.
