The Cherubim and Seraphim Church affirms that God continues to speak to His people through direct revelation beyond the written Scripture. This ongoing revelation takes multiple forms: prophetic utterances delivered through prophets and prophetesses, visions and dreams given to believers, appearances of angels, and words of knowledge or wisdom granted during prayer and worship. These revelatory experiences are understood as normal Christian life, not exceptional phenomena.

The C&S's entire identity is shaped by expectation of direct encounter with the Spirit and receipt of spiritual communication. Prayer vigils are extended partly in hopes of receiving visions and dreams; worship services include times for prophecy; the prophetess's prophetic word carries significant weight in the life of the church. This emphasis on ongoing revelation distinguishes the C&S from more cessationist Protestant traditions that believe prophetic gifts ended with the apostolic age.

However, the C&S affirms that all claimed revelations must be tested against Scripture. A prophecy that contradicts God's Word is considered a lying spirit or demonic deception. The fruit of a claimed revelation is examined — does it lead to holiness, to love, to faith? Additionally, the prophetic words of recognized, mature prophets carry more weight than those of new or untested individuals. This framework attempts to maintain openness to the Spirit while guarding against fanaticism and error.
