Christ's death provides salvation and healing; Christus Victor and penal substitution both affirmed

The Cherubim and Seraphim Church affirms that Christ's death and resurrection provide redemption for humanity. The atonement is understood through multiple frameworks, with emphasis falling on the victory or Christus Victor model. Christ, through His death and resurrection, conquered Satan and broke the power of evil. His victory is not merely forensic but cosmic — He triumphed over demonic forces, breaking their hold over individuals and creation. Through faith in Christ and reliance on His name, believers share in this victory and gain authority to resist and rebuke evil spirits.

The C&S also affirms penal substitution — Christ bore the penalty for human sin, taking upon Himself the judgment that sinners deserve. His blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins. Both the victory and substitutionary aspects of the atonement are held together: Christ's death defeats Satan and satisfies justice; it opens the way for sinners to be reconciled to God through faith.

Moreover, the C&S emphasizes Christ's role as Healer. The atonement is understood to extend not only to the forgiveness of sins but to physical and spiritual healing. Through Christ's passion, believers are healed of sickness and delivered from demonic oppression. Prayer in Christ's name and the application of blessed oil or water are means through which the healing benefits of the atonement are appropriated.
