Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin

Vineyard affirms the virginal conception of Jesus as a historical miracle essential to the Incarnation. Mary conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, not by a human father, fulfilling the Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament. This doctrine is affirmed in Vineyard's Statement of Faith as part of its orthodox Christological commitments.

The virgin birth is understood as consistent with Vineyard's expectation of the supernatural: a God who heals the sick and raises the dead also brought his Son into the world through a miraculous birth. It is taught as a non-negotiable element of historic Christian faith.
