The distinction between the UCKG and groups like Jehovah's Witnesses (which reject blood transfusions) is significant. The UCKG's openness to medical science and to blood transfusions reflects its pragmatic concern with believers' welfare and its understanding that God's healing comes through multiple channels — prayer, faith, the Holy Spirit, and the discoveries and resources of medical science.
