The AG affirms that humans possess an immortal soul and that physical death does not end conscious existence. At death, believers enter immediately into God's presence (often described as being 'with Christ'), while the unrighteous await final judgment. The AG explicitly rejects soul sleep — the idea that the soul is unconscious between death and the resurrection.

The bodily resurrection is central to AG eschatology. The AG believes in a literal, physical resurrection of the dead: believers at the rapture and second coming of Christ, and the unrighteous at the Great White Throne Judgment. This resurrection body will be glorified and incorruptible, modeled on Christ's own resurrection body.

The AG's eschatological framework is strongly influenced by dispensational premillennialism, which provides a detailed sequence for end-times events. However, the AG's core position on the afterlife — the immediate conscious existence of the departed, the bodily resurrection, eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the unrighteous — is grounded in its reading of Scripture rather than any particular prophetic system.
