Justification by faith in Jesus Name; works are evidence of Spirit baptism

Oneness Pentecostal churches interpret James 2:24 in the context of their distinctive soteriology: justification comes through faith in Jesus (including baptism in the name of Jesus and the infilling of the Holy Ghost). Works are the evidence of genuine Spirit baptism and living faith.

Oneness theology emphasizes that faith must be 'works' of obedience and righteousness; dead faith (without accompanying obedience) does not prove genuine conversion. Works do not cause justification but are its inevitable consequence.
