Messianic Judaism does not hold a unified position on the continuation of charismatic gifts and prophetic revelation beyond Scripture. Many Messianic congregations are influenced by Pentecostal and Charismatic movements and affirm that the Holy Spirit continues to work in prophecy, healing, tongues, and other miraculous gifts. These phenomena are understood as the ongoing ministry of the Ruach HaKodesh, not adding to Scripture but confirming and applying its truths.

Other Messianic congregations and leaders are cessationist, believing that the charismatic gifts have ceased with the completion of the biblical canon and the apostolic age. They affirm that the Holy Spirit continues to work in all believers for sanctification and service, but do not expect or seek miraculous signs and wonders. This variation reflects the diversity of Christian theological traditions represented within Messianic Judaism and the movement's openness to different models of pneumatology.
