Jehovah's Witnesses acknowledge the textual reality that Mark 16:9-20 is not found in the earliest Greek manuscripts. The longer ending is understood as a later addition to Mark's Gospel. However, the message of Christ's resurrection is clearly affirmed throughout the New Testament and is central to Witnesses' faith. The absence of Mark's longer ending does not affect the church's conviction about the resurrection or the signs that follow faith in Christ.

Witnesses do not depend on Mark 16:9-20 for the gospel message or signs of faith. The resurrection of Jesus and the promised return of Christ are taught extensively elsewhere in Scripture and are foundational to Witness theology and hope.
