Iglesia ni Cristo teaches that the Holy Spirit is not a distinct divine person but rather the active power and gift of God given to the faithful. The Spirit is understood as the manifestation of God's presence and power working in believers and in the world, but not as an independent divine agent or a third person of the Godhead. The Spirit is God's means of empowering the faithful for witness, sanctification, and service.

While the Holy Spirit is recognized as real and active (not merely an impersonal force), the personhood and divinity attributed to the Spirit in Trinitarian theology are rejected. This doctrine maintains the strict unitarian monotheism that is central to INC theology. The Spirit is presented as a gift and power from God the Father, mediated through Christ, but not as God the Spirit.
