The EFCA Statement of Faith affirms that Jesus Christ is 'fully God and fully man' — the eternal Son of God who took on human nature through the virgin birth. He is one person in two natures, consistent with the Chalcedonian definition. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the Father, and now reigns at the Father's right hand. He will return personally and visibly.

Jesus Christ as the divine-human Savior is the center of EFCA theology and preaching. The denomination's church planting emphasis is driven by the conviction that Christ is the only Savior and Lord and that every person needs to encounter him in saving faith. The exclusivity of Christ's lordship and his unique role as the only mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5) is non-negotiable in EFCA theology.

The EFCA's Christology is expressed with both academic precision (two natures, one person, fully divine, fully human) and pastoral warmth. Christ is not only the object of theological confession but the living Lord who is known personally and worshipped. The EFCA's spiritual vitality is closely tied to its Christocentric orientation.
