Many Southern Baptist theologians understand final salvation not merely as a disembodied existence in heaven but as a renewed creation — the 'new heavens and new earth' described in Revelation 21–22 — in which redeemed humanity will dwell in embodied form in God's presence forever. The vision of eternal life in SBC theology is relational and worshipful: eternal fellowship with God, the glorification of Christ, and the full realization of the image of God in redeemed humanity. The BFM2000 does not elaborate extensively on the nature of heaven, but it is confessed as a certain and glorious hope for all who trust in Christ.
