Armstrongism affirms that Jesus Christ is fully God—the second member of the divine Family created by or proceeding from the Father. Jesus pre-existed as the Word (Logos) before His incarnation and was active in creation. In his incarnation, He took on human flesh while remaining divine, becoming the God-man who could die as a sacrifice for human sins.

Armstrong rejected Arianism (which denied Christ's full divinity) while also rejecting the Trinity (which made Christ and the Father one being). Instead, Armstrongism teaches that Christ is a distinct divine Being subordinate in role to the Father but equal in power and glory. His pre-incarnate role included speaking creation into existence and appearing to the patriarchs in Old Testament theophanies.
