Deuterocanonical books (Apocrypha) not Scripture; not binding on faith
The Amish, following the Lutheran and Reformed tradition, do not include the deuterocanonical books (Tobit, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch, 1&2 Maccabees, additional Daniel and Esther passages) in the biblical canon. The Luther Bible lists these in a separate 'Apocrypha' section, indicating secondary status.
The Amish affirm the 66-book Protestant canon as the complete and authoritative Scripture. While the deuterocanonical books may contain useful wisdom, they are not considered God's Word and are not used as doctrine basis. This reflects the Reformation principle of sola scriptura.
